Birth Doula Service $2500

As your birth doula, Jamie will listen. She will hear your concerns and help you find evidence based information to help you make the right decisions for you. We will have one to two prenatal meetings where Jamie will get to know you and your partner. At these meetings, you can discuss comfort measures, relaxation techniques and coping strategies. She will share ways in which your partner can be an active participant in your labor. Jamie is on call as your doula starting at week 37, but she is always available via phone or email from the point you engage her services. Her attendance at your birth is continuous. Once baby arrives, she can assist with breastfeeding as needed. Jamie also provides one postpartum visit within the first week or two. From home to birth center to hospital, she has experience supporting every kind of birth in New York City. Jamie welcomes all types of families. Contact us  for a complimentary consultation to see if she is a good fit for your family.

Postpartum Doula Service $40 per hour (3-hour minimum)

Doulas are often described as “mothering the mother”.  This is an apt description. As your postpartum doula, Jamie will nurture your natural instinct to care for you baby. She can offer guidance on breastfeeding, newborn soothing and baby wearing. Most of all, she takes care of you and your partner so that you can best care for your baby. This is different for every family but can include a hearty home cooked meal, a load of laundry or running short errands. Jamie is also happy to care for your baby while you take some time to shower or take an uninterrupted nap.

Prenatal Massage $170 for 60 minutes

Kip provides soothing in-home massage during pregnancy and post-partum. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, prenatal massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance. Massage in the last days of pregnancy can facilitate a relaxed state and encourage the onset of labor. Massage can also be used to relieve postpartum discomforts including the stiff neck and back that can accompany breastfeeding and caring for a new baby. And don’t forget your partner! Both sleep deprived parents can reap benefits from the therapeutic massage.
